Matt, Kathy, Anne, & Mark -- I wish I could have been with all of you today to help honor Uncle Matt. I will remember him for his generosity, especially at Christmas time. He was very supportive of my mom when she was a single mother, helping her with the down-payment on our house. I fondly remember flying down to Florida with all of you on the Premier jet (a DC-9, I think). I thought he was God. And there was the time on your houseboat when I fell in the Ohio River -- everything looks green and murky down there. Uncle Matt pulled me out of the soup before I even knew what had happened. And I've also been thinking today about the time when you guys all lived in Oakwood and I would spend weekdays at your house while my mom was working at Premier. We used to go up the block to Mrs. Sour's house and she would give us all kinds of sweets, which I thought was funny because her name was Sour. Your dad was a great cook, and I remember the spicy Italian stuffing he used to make at Thanksgiving. At another time, when we were older, I remember we all loaded into the RV and drove down to Cincinnati to a Reds game at which Kathy sang the National Anthem. And, of course, no reminiscence about Uncle Matt would be complete without a few words about all the wonderful Forth of July celebrations that he staged, each one topping the one before. Matt, I'm really sorry I almost blew your hand off with that firecracker one year! Wherever Uncle Matt is now, I hope they're shooting off some really big fireworks.##imported-begin##Jim Buck##imported-end##
