Maurice L. Pollard's Obituary
POLLARD, Maurice L., age 79, of Waynesville, passed away Wed. June 27, 2018 at his residence. Maurice graduated in 1956 from Versailles High School in Indiana, where he enjoyed playing basketball. He attended classes at the University of Cincinnati following high school. He worked in the computer technology field as a systems analyst and retired from Nutone, Inc. after 44 years of service. For the past 18 years, he was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Known for his unique smile, he greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends, exercising, and traveling. He had a love for watching sports, especially basketball, and was a big Indiana University fan.
He was preceded in death by one son Patrick Forrest Pollard; one daughter Betty Lou Pollard; his parents Forrest Elmer and Nellie Mae Pollard; and two sisters Elaine Miller and Janet Knowlton. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Alice; one son Richard (Bonny) Pollard; three daughters Vicki (David) Long, Jenny (Steve) Schoephoerster, and Rhonda (Bradley) Post; ten grandchildren Mason, Brooke, Tess, Jeremy, Zachary, Josh, Michael, Travis, Ashley, and Ricky; seven great grandchildren Jonathan, Jordan, Henry, Ceci, Connor, Faith, and Hope; two brothers Elmer Pollard and Phillip (Jan) Pollard; and one sister Polly Hunger.
Celebration of Life service will be 12 PM Sat. July 7 at the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Jason Sharp will be officiating. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 12 PM Sat. at the church.
