I first met Mel Blankenship at the USPFO, Lansing, Michigan when I was transferred from the 227nd Missile Battalion, Newport, Miichigan as a Purchasing Agent in 1969. My name is Melvin J. Holley CW4 (Ret.) Of course, I was also called "Mel" from that time by everyone in the office. My wife and I send our sympathy and esteem in Col. Mel's memory.
