Michael P. Aldridge's Obituary
ALDRIDGE, Michael P., age 52, of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023.
For nearly all his life, Michael worked with his dad and brother at J. D. Aldridge Construction. For several years, he attended Citygate Church in Lebanon. In recent days, he had been attending Family Life Church in Lebanon.
Family-oriented, kind, loving, selfless, and a friend to all, Michael was a gentle giant known for always having a big smile on his face. He adored his family and was a faithful servant of the lord. He was always positive and upbeat, even in the face of adversity, and often served as a peacemaker when family and friends had a dispute.
Growing up in Texas, he loved to go offshore fishing with his dad, which occurred nearly every week. After moving to Ohio, he often fished with his dad and nephew at Sandusky Bay, Caesar Creek Lake, and several other inland waterways. In his younger days, he enjoyed coon hunting with his dogs. His favorite tradition was family gatherings for fish fries, birthday parties, and holidays. He was the pit master on the barbecue, using the skills of his Texas upbringing to build a reputation as having the best bbq around. In addition, Michael was a fan of bluegrass music and liked playing it loud, to the dismay and amusement of his wife.
Michael was incredibly proud of his kids. Abigail was daddy’s little girl. He was always proud that she worked in ministry for several years by leading worship. They spent many Saturday mornings hanging out while watching Michael’s favorite show, Wicked Tuna. Chad was Michael’s right-hand man and enjoyed making his dad laugh. Michael coached Chad’s football team from 1st grade until 9th grade, and they were the perfect father-son team. Of course, Chad’s favorite memories with his dad included the many times they went fishing together. Chad will continue Michael’s legacy.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Angie; daughter, Abby Aldridge; son, Chad Michael Aldridge; his parents, James “Dave” and Bobbie Aldridge; one brother, Dave Jr. (Laura) Aldridge; one sister, Jerri Haas; nephews, Brandon Nicoll, Adam (Michaela) Wolfe, Eric (Ally) Haas, and Joe Haas; nieces, Sarah (Ryan) Simpson, Courtney Aldridge, and Logan (Julio) Madrigal; and parents-in-law, Rick and Reva Hoskins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, March 23, at Sure Foundation Ministries in Harveysburg. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday at Sure Foundation Church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
