Michael F. McGuire's Obituary
McGUIRE, Michael F. age 73, of Miamisburg and formerly of Harrison, OH, passed away Mon. Sept. 25, 2017 at Southview Hospital.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University in 1970 and proudly served in the US Air Force.
He retired from the US General Accounting Office at Wright Patterson Air Force Base after serving 30 years reviewing civilian contracts on behalf of the US government. Some of his duties were to audit and evaluate intergovernmental entitlement programs and block grants; child and mental health care policies and financial issues; military weapons systems acquisitions and sensitive national security issues related to Dept. of Defense intelligence programs; and issuing reports to Congress.
Following his retirement, he served 12 more years at Foxx & Company. He was assigned senior auditor to the company's performance audit of first responder grants awarded to the State of Indiana by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security.
He greatly enjoyed gardening, painting, golfing, boating, building model boats, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Loretia McGuire and two brothers Robert and Paul Jones. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three sons Michael (Maya) McGuire, Robert (Martha) Del Prete, and Manny Ayala; two daughters Katie (Corey) Donathan and Angie (Matt) Anderson; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister Patricia (Paul) Campbell; and sister-in-law Margaret Jones.
Funeral services 12 PM Thurs. Sept. 28 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 12 PM Thurs. at the funeral home.
