Michel "Alison" (Buckle) Ruzicka's Obituary
RUZICKA, Michel “Alison,” age 57, of Oregonia, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a three-year battle with cancer Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Atrium Hospital in Middletown.
Alison recently retired from Lebanon City Schools, where she served as the head cook for many of the 20 years of service to the district.
Alison was easygoing, caring, and helpful. She was an animal lover and cared for several beloved dogs, cats, chickens, and other animals over the years. Her hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, and watching movies. She will be remembered for all her delicious cuisine, especially her manicotti. She loved the cabin life and has enjoyed living in a cabin locally for many years. Along with her husband, they rented cabins for get-away trips during the past 25-30 years in the Pigeon Forge area of the Smokies. A few years back, they enjoyed the Pigeon Forge area so much that they purchased a cabin for more convenience and extended stays. In her earlier days, she enjoyed renting houseboats to enjoy the lake life at Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow Lake. Among many things, Alison will be remembered for her love of collecting snowmen. Most importantly, however, she will be remembered for her strength and determination in her fight against cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Catherine Buckle. She is survived by her husband, Stephen, together 37 years; two stepsons, Rodney (Heather) Ruzicka and Eddie Ruzicka; two brothers, Phillip (Becky) Buckle and Stuart "Jay" Buckle; and two sisters, Leah (Ed) Rogerson and Ellen (Mark) Southard.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 27, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Wendell Amburgy will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 5 - 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Southwest, 7625 Camargo Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45243.
