Myrna Sue Elliott's Obituary
ELLIOTT, Myrna Sue, age 87, of Waynesville, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
Myrna spent her early years in Brookville, Indiana, before moving to Dayton at age 16 to assist her sister, Nancy, with a business that provided rental housing for University of Dayton students. While attending Patterson Co-Op, she worked as a bookkeeper for Jackson Electrical Instrument Company and continued with the company until its closing in 1966. She later attended Park University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Throughout her career, Myrna was known for her intelligence, dedication, and adaptability. She worked for many years at Beerman Realty, where she played an important role in transitioning the company's bookkeeping system from paper records to computerized accounting. She concluded her professional career as Chief Accountant for Astro Industries in Dayton.
Following retirement, she enjoyed spending time with friends and attending various community events before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In her later years, Myrna faced the challenges of dementia with grace and resilience. As her needs increased, she became a resident of Ohio Living Quaker Heights. Bubbly, kindhearted, and always willing to help others, Myrna had a special place in her heart for those in need.
She spent many years traveling to Native American reservations in the Dakotas, assisting with various efforts and building meaningful friendships along the way. She also enjoyed participating in and supporting powwows held during the Blue Jacket reenactments. An avid animal lover, Myrna cared deeply for animals of all kinds and especially cherished her three beloved cats. Myrna loved being around people and treasured the time she spent with her nieces and nephews, often treating them to pizza outings and arcade games. She looked forward to family reunions, particularly those held in Indiana, and was an enthusiastic reader who rarely passed up a good book.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond H. Elliott and Adele Huber Elliott; and four sisters, Sylvia Tussey, Alice Becker, Shirley Duff, and Nancy Kuehn. She is survived by her brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Pat Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Ohio Living Quaker Heights for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Myrna throughout her residency.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 12 pm on Friday at the funeral home. A meal will be served at Ohio’s Living Quaker Heights after the service.
