Natalie A. Johnson's Obituary
Natalie A. Johnson, age 90, of Waynesville and formerly of Bellbrook and Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton.
Natalie was born on December 7, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Elihu W. Standley and Anna M. (Pesko) Standley. She spent much of her life in the Dayton and Bellbrook areas, where she built a warm and welcoming home centered around faith, family, and service to others.
Natalie was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma who took great pride in caring for her family. She was a longtime member of Crossview Christian Church in Waynesville, where her faith guided every part of her life.
In her free time, Natalie enjoyed many creative and nurturing pursuits. She loved vegetable gardening, often canning green beans and other produce she preserved herself. She often said, “There’s nothing better than green beans from a jar!” She found joy in home decorating, oil painting, knitting, and playing the piano, all of which she developed a great talent for and cherished throughout her life. Natalie also enjoyed swimming, an activity she always felt blessed she could enjoy due to having a pool in her backyard while living in Dayton and one of the nation’s best YMCAs close to home - the Countryside YMCA in Lebanon. As a result of having polio as a child, Natalie had a strong interest in holistic living and healthy eating, researching vitamins and natural approaches to wellness, which she influenced her children and grandchildren to follow as well. She also took immense pride in decorating her home beautifully for the Christmas season.
Natalie was known for her loving, caring, and servant-hearted nature. She was family-oriented, friendly, and always willing to help others—especially children. Neighborhood kids and her children’s friends were often welcomed with kindness, guidance, and encouragement. Her home was a place of comfort, care, and genuine love.
Natalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Carl Johnson, in 2023; great-grandson, Johnny; and her brothers, Victor DelGrosso and Melvin Standley. She is survived by her children: Raymond Jeff (Debbie) Johnson, Christine (Peter) Aiello, Steven (Patty) Johnson, and Trisha and Tim Johnson; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Cristy, Anna, Peter, Colleen, Emily, Caitlin, Gwenevier, and Lane; sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by extended family members and many friends who will miss her deeply.
Among many things, Natalie will be remembered for how much she enjoyed watching the weather reports, with the ultimate goal of keeping family and friends safe and ahead of any upcoming weather conditions. Most importantly, however, she will be remembered most for her love of the Lord, her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the loving care she showed to everyone who entered her life.
The family will receive friends from 2:00–4:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville, where a funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM, with Bryan Forney officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Condolences may be expressed to the family at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
