Pastor John Sherman Cook's Obituary
COOK, John “Sherman” age 91 of Waynesville passed away Sat. Aug. 25, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. Born Sept. 22, 1915 to John Sherman Sr. and Bessie Cook in Madison Co., KY. Sherman was a WWII Army Veteran. He founded the Full Gospel Tabernacle in 1971 and has continued to faithfully serve until the time of his death. He greatly enjoyed farming in his earlier days, fishing, spending time with grandchildren, and fishing for souls. He was preceded in death by his wife Alene in 2004; one daughter Sharon Rose Cook; four brothers Roy, Brown, Henry, and Thomas A. Cook; and three sisters Delta Gabbard, Myrtle Wilkerson, and Marie Jones. He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law Ralph and Patty Cook of Mt. Orab, Ronald and Betty Cook of Waynesville, and Carl and JoAnne Cook of Houston, TX; daughter and son-in-law Ada and Virgil Fox of Waynesville; nine grandchildren Steve, Tanya, Becky, Dean, Julie, Darrick, Sim, Carla, and Krista; 18 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and three brothers and sisters-in-law Edward and Betty Cook of Trotwood, Otis and Sue Cook of Waynesville, and Earnest and Linda Cook of Waynesville. Funeral services 10:30 A.M. Tues. Aug. 28 at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Waynesville. The Full Gospel Tabernacle will officiate his services. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends after 4 P.M. Mon. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
