Patty Sue Sigmon's Obituary
SIGMON, Patty Sue, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, and formerly of Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at her residence with family by her side.
Patty was a devoted wife, a meticulous homemaker, and a follower of Jesus Christ. She was born and grew up in and around the Hamilton, Ohio area. While words alone cannot adequately cover a lifetime, here are a few from those that knew her best. Loving, Humble, Loyal, Caring, Prayer Partner, Friend, Artist, Great Cook, Caregiver, Trustworthy, Dedicated, Hard Working, Thoughtful, Grateful, Good Listener. As you hear or read these words, our hope is that they will remind you of a time spent talking or visiting with her. She strived for excellence in everything she did and took being a homemaker as something to be proud of, and her home, both inside and outside, reflected this approach. She, like most of us, loved to find a bargain and could spend hours shopping and buying nothing. Her guide to living a successful life started and ended with the Bible, and much of it is located in Mathew Chapter 5: verses 3-11. "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall inherit the earth, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled, Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy, Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God, Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called be the children of God, Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake." Among many things, she will be remembered for her devotion to the Lord and her love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Logan Brock; parents, Lee and Ruby Merida; three brothers, Wendall, Larry, and David Merida; and one sister Norma. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jack; three sons, Grant (Michele) Brock, Ted (Shana) Brock, and Mark (Melissa) Sigmon; two daughters, Jacqueline (Jay) Abner and Gina (Thomas) Dooley; seven grandchildren, Tiffani, Michael, Ethan, Zachary, Lillyann, Rachael, Sierra, and Jarrett; three great-grandchildren Colt, Lucas, and Levi; four sisters, Diane (John) Baker, Carolyn (Juan) Juarez, Janette Short, and Loretta Durbin; cousins Linda and Shirley and a dear friend of over 40 years, Carol and her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 5, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 12 PM - 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Miami Cemetery Association. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
