Pauline M. Hammill's Obituary
HAMMILL, Pauline M. (Oliveri), age 96, of Mason and formerly of Centerville, OH, Petaluma, CA, and New Jersey passed away Sat., Jan. 25, 2020 at Mason Christian Village.
Sweet, loving, and very witty, Pauline kept people laughing and was loved by all who knew her. She was very family oriented and made her children and husband the priority throughout her life. Pauline was an artist and china painter and loved to teach her craft to numerous appreciative students and her collection of personal pieces has been shown nationally. Over the years, she greatly enjoyed writing poetry and playing both the piano and organ. After her husband retired they enjoyed travelling the world together. Visiting Italy, specifically the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City was one of her more memorable journeys as she explored her Catholic roots.
While living in Petaluma, she served as a Eucharistic minister, lector, and headed the RCIA program at St. James Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church while living in Centerville.
Among many things, she will be remembered as a loving wife, dedicated mother, wonderful grandmother, and a disciple of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hammill III, in 2007; two sons Joseph in 1952 and Paul in 1958; her parents Anthony and Catherine Oliveri; one brother Russell Oliveri; and one sister Norma Penney. She is survived by two sons Robert (Karlena) Hammill and Edward (Patricia) Hammill; one daughter Dolores Shotton; and three grandchildren Joseph, Shanna and Andrew Hammill.
Pauline will be laid to rest next to her loving husband of 59 years at New St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bellmawr, New Jersey.
