Peter "Pete" Magrino's Obituary
MAGRINO, Peter "Pete," age 63, of Waynesville and formerly of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
Pete was born in Hempstead, NY, and shortly after moved to Cincinnati. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School, class of '77. He worked in the printing, binding, and corrugation business for 45 years until retiring in 2023.
As a true self-made man, Pete climbed his way up from the bottom in an industry where he excelled. Along the way, he proved to be a remarkable mentor and teacher to many of his coworkers. His love for the great outdoors was unparalleled, and he found solace in fishing - any lake or fishin' hole would do, but he held a special place in his heart for Lake Cumberland and the Red River Gorge. Pete's free time was often spent with his cherished wife, playing cards, working on home improvement projects, and tending to the yard. His exceptional handiness and ability to fix anything were widely recognized. Despite his many great traits, his unwavering drive, dependability, work ethic, and patience were some of the most noteworthy. He lived by a "never quit" attitude that powered his fight to the very end. He tirelessly worked to provide a wonderful life for his family and cherished every moment he spent with them - particularly his precious grandbabies. Being surrounded by his loved ones meant everything to him, and he looked forward to family gatherings, relishing the opportunity to cook and grill for them. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved his wife and family with every fiber of his being.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sophie Magrino, and two brothers, Timothy and Jonathan Magrino. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Julie; one son, Peter Glen (Katelyn) Magrino; one daughter, Mandy Magrino; three grandchildren, Addyson Magrino, Finn Magrino, and Noah Magrino; two brothers, Christopher (Michelle) Magrino and Robert (Bernadette D'Souza) Magrino; two sisters-in-law, Brenda and Lee Magrino; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, April 1, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Life Celebrant Katie Mackoway will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
