Phil J. Goldie's Obituary
GOLDIE, Phil J., age 75, of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Kettering Hospital.
Phil honorably served in the National Guard. After many years of service to the company, he retired as a supervisor from General Motors.
Giving, caring, and often blunt in a fun way, Phil had a heart of gold and was always concerned for the well-being of his family. In his younger days, he was an avid softball player. He also enjoyed caring for his yard. One of his favorite hobbies was relaxing on his porch and discussing strategies to fix the world’s problems. He had a tradition of going out for breakfast on Sunday mornings with his wife, which he always loved. Among many things, Phil will be remembered as “Papaw” by his family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, in 2022; his parents, Jackson Goldie and Anna Louise Albers; and two brothers, Randy and Tim Goldie. He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Steve) Brannon and Rachel Goldie; three grandchildren, Jack Carroll, Megan Kyne, and Josh Brannon; great-grandson, Michael; six brothers, Rick (Pat) Goldie, Jeff (Debbie) Goldie, Jerry Goldie, Bob (Diane) Goldie, Doug Goldie, and Gary (Debra) Goldie; and two sisters, Debbie Goldie and Donna (Ron) Whit.
Private family services were held on Monday, July 1, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Condolences may be made to the family at www.stubbsconner.com.
