Other than my parents, I would say Pastor Shelton influenced my life the most. He is in so many memories as a little girl, the one who led me to Jesus, baptized me, married Mike and I. He was there for most of my life through the wonderful memories as well as coming to my home to pray for me after our son, Adam died. I will always remember his passion, his burden for the lost and his knowledge of the Word.
Thank you for sharing him throughout the years! I share your loss but we will be reunited him and that is the hope he taught all of us!!

So many memories. Difficult to choose just one, but Pastor had a way of engaging everyone, even all us kids. I loved when he chose me to take up offering on Sunday nights. Once, I had stepped on a thorn that went all the way through my foot on a Sunday afternoon. We went to church and he asked me to take up offering and of course I did! When he saw me limping around we all had a good chuckle. I am so sorry that I cannot be in attendance at the service tomorrow. God bless you, Shelton family as you celebrate Pastor's promotion to heaven.
The following quote was from a sermon preached by Pastor Shelton. I wrote it down as part of a sermon note when I was in Jr. High. I recognized it at the time as possibly the most important thing I would ever hear. "If there isn't a god, nothing matters. If there IS a God, nothing ELSE matters." No matter what was going on, Pastor Shelton would always make time to talk to me at the end of his sermon and explain anything I didn't understand! He was always so smart and taught with elegance and knowledge, but so much humility too. I honestly don't have the words to do him justice. I am so blessed to have been a part of his ministry, to have learned at his feet, to have attended the school he founded and to have been introduced to the hundreds of people at church and school that sowed the seeds of God's Word in my heart. I know Jesus today because of Pastor Shelton's legacy. My heart swells with eternal gratitude. Thank you, Lord, for letting Pastor Shelton be a part of my life, for teaching me to read the Word and study it for myself and to know that God's Word is always in unity with the Holy Spirit. Sir, you have always had my deepest respect. I have thought of you often throughout the years and missed you standing in the pulpit. I look forward to seeing you again one day, and I know that because of your ministry, I will.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. Pastor Shelton was very special to me as a young teenager. He will always have a place in my heart.
