Raymond Hughes' Obituary
HUGHES, Raymond passed away May 28, 2015 at Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville of natural causes. He was just weeks past his 103rd birthday. Raymond was raised in rural Kentucky, the 7th of 12 children, coming to Ohio in 1934, where he married Dorothy Fearing in 1936. Following 18 years at Frigidaire, he worked at Midwestern Pool where he was the project manager building swimming pools in several states. He was a charter member of the Springboro Lions Club and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Lytle United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a part time farmer and had a passion for fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy, and his parents Jesse James and Allie Hughes. He is survived by his son David (Katherine “Kitty”) Hughes of Ashville, NC; three grandchildren Kathleen (Marcus) Rose of Seattle, WA, Heather (Darren) Coons of Raleigh, NC, and Julie (Craig) Campbell of Sydney, Australia; six great grandchildren; one brother Clyde Hughes of Washington, KY; one sister Louise Roe of Maysville, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1 PM Thurs. June 4 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Brian Blankenship will be officiating.
