KAMMERER, Father Raymond, age 81, of Waynesville, passed away Sat., Jan. 4, 2020 at his residence. Father Kammerer earned graduate degrees from both the Athenaeum of Ohio (Mount Saint Mary’s of the West) and Xavier University in Read Obituary
Use to belong to his church in Waynesville. We would have meetings with members who wanted to study a subject of interest with other members. Never will forget he had ordered a fruitcake from the Trappist Monks for all to share. He had said the food at that Monnastary was too bland, so maybe fruitcake would be better! Such a kind soul who made you feel loved and welcomed anytime you were in his church. I will miss him dearly, but what I know from him, and being saved by him, I know we will meet again one fine day. Fr. Ray was a kind man and so patient with us as college sophomores at CMSJ in the 70s. Heaven shines a bit brighter with him there now. Thank you for your service to the church.
So sadly read the paper this morning to see Fr Raymond’s obituary in the Dayton Daily News.
August 2010 I had the pleasure to care for Clara, his mother, and become friends with Fr Raymond. My 6 years with Fr Raymond cooking for him, learning some history lessons, going to some storage sales were some of the best times I have had.
I pray Father Ray is free from pain and his soul is with our Lord. His work on Earth will be rewarded greatly. His students loved him from Carroll high school to Chatfield. His love of teaching was a bright light, that has dimmed but will shine again in his library with all his books and paintings.
Rest In Peace my friend, you certainly earned it.
Fr. Ray married my wife and I and baptized both my sons. I wouldn't have had it any other way. He was my priest and my friend. I had the most upmost respect for him and I thank him for his countless hours of teaching me the ways of the bible. I smile thinking that his Lord Jesus would be wanting to be first in line to meet him at the gateway to Heaven.
