Although I have not known the Blackstones for long we became very close. Dick always made me laugh, had the most infectious smile and sweet soul. He would call me into his apartment everyday at Tapestry to fix his TV and loved how I made his oatmeal. I'm going to miss you and I will continue to take special care of your sweet Evelyn. I still gotta fix the tv for her, watch a little basketball, and hold her hand to say grace with her before she eats like u did every morning. Praying for peace and comfort for the family
Dick was a very special person to my son and I. My favorite memory of him is when he showed me his cowboy hat that he was wearing in honor of my son being in Texas for basic training. He was the example of a Godly man, whose light shined so bright. He will be missed by us all at Tapestry.
I had the great honor of being one of Mr. Blackstone’s caregivers at his Tapestry home. He always had a warm smile and sweet spirit about him. It was no surprise reading the beautiful obituary of his life. I always loved seeing him and Ms Evelyn sitting on the couch holding hands watching tv, most of the time with her head on his shoulder. Their love and their faith could be clearly recognized. His family and friends were blessed to have him in their lives as were we at Tapestry. He will be greatly missed . ❤️

My Uncle Dick was one of my most favorite people. Our family's spent a lot of time together when we were growing up. We were not only family but our parents were best friends. They went to school and graduated from Hopewell together. We used to visit them often and we all had a good time. There was always music and laughter, wonderful food and homemade ice cream. What a wonderful way to grow up. I will miss you Uncle Dick. You have always been special to me, as well as Aunt Evelyn, Rick and Vick.
