Richard O. Briggs Sr.'s Obituary
BRIGGS, Richard O. Sr. age 86 of Waynesville and formerly of Lytle passed away Mon. March 18, 2013 at his residence. Richard was a WWII Navy veteran and worked as a tool and die maker since 1950. He was a member of the Waynesville American Legion, Lebanon VFW, Disabled American Veterans, Tin Can Sailors Assoc., and the Kamikaze Attacks Survivors Assoc. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 1995, his parents Roy (step mom Clara) Briggs and Minnie Price, two grandchildren Larry Christman Jr and Ronald Briggs Jr., and his sister Laveda Littler. He is survived by 9 children Rose (David) Forsythe, Richard Briggs Jr. (Carl Marting), Alice (Larry) Christman, Robert Briggs (fiancée Dotty), Jean (Warren) Merris, Ruth Miller, Ronald (Kristi) Briggs, Judy Bolling (fiancée Lance), and Roger (Sandy) Briggs; 24 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and special friend Jean Laurie. Funeral service 11 AM Thurs. March 21 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wed. at the funeral home.
