Richard and my brother Franklin were buddies in Hinton and decided on a whim to Join the Army. The went to Beckley and did this, asked when they would have to report for training and were told 'you are leaving today', call home say your good-byes and have someone meet you at the train station. They need to bring a bag with a change of clothes and shaving kit. Then asked if they would train together, were assured they would. After arriving at camp, they never saw each other again. Good guy, this man was one of a kind.
He was a good neighbor and a giving man. Praying for his family's comfort in Jesus.
