Richard E. Hale's Obituary
HALE, Richard E., age 89, of Lebanon, passed away Sat. March 2, 2019 at Hillspring of Springboro.
Richard was a Korean Conflict Army veteran and retired from NCR after 26 years of work. He also worked 20 years at the Warren County Career Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents Virgle and Dorothy Ehrling Hale, step-mother Virginia Hale, sisters Ethel Wells Griffis and Janet Kirby Baker. He is survived by two sisters Ruth (Harold) McCall and Virginia Cox; three brothers Virgil (Tambra) Hale, Howard (Sandra) Hale, and James (Carol) Hale; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard enjoyed eating at Country Kitchen in Lebanon at least twice a day – sometimes three. He was the second customer at their opening in 1972 and continued to patronize them daily until the summer of 2016. He enjoyed chatting with and monitoring the waitresses as they performed their duties. He would tell you that he’d trained many.
He loved watching sports and was a Nascar fan. To while away the hours, you could find him looking at new automobiles at the local car dealerships. His refrigerator was used mostly for his all-time favorite snack of milk and gingersnap cookies. Richard’s personal motto was this: A bachelor is a rolling stone who gathers no boss.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Sat. May 11 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Sat. May 11 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Edwardsville Cemetery in Harlan Township. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
