Richard D. Sheehan's Obituary
SHEEHAN, Richard D. age 86, of Waynesville, passed away Wed. Sept. 23, 2015 at the Kettering Medical Center. A 1947 graduate of Waynesville High School, Richard received an Associate Degree from the Univ. of Dayton in Inventory Management. He was a Korean Conflict Air Force veteran. He retired from Duriron in Dayton in 1988 after more than 30 years of service. For many years, he enjoyed growing sweet corn, shrubs, and pumpkins with his brother and their father. He was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church, a 60 year member of the Waynesville American Legion, and a former President of the Waynesville Lions Club. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, and history, specifically historical aircraft and the Wright Brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mildred Sheehan and a special aunt Rebecca Kartalia. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred; daughter Karen Chandler; three grandchildren Matthew Cornett, Jennah (Jason) McClure, and Emily Barbara; two great grandchildren Davis and Josie; and his brother Warren (Marta) Sheehan. Funeral services 11 AM Tues. Sept. 29 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Mon. at the funeral home.
