Robert Dale Whitt's Obituary
WHITT, Robert Dale, age 74, of Waynesville, passed away Fri. Sept. 20, 2019 at his residence.
For the past 45 years Bob worked at Future Finishes, Inc. in Fairfield, mostly serving as their plant manager. He loved his job and took great pride working for the company.
Bob was a hardworking, family man, who found great joy in taking care of his family and spending quality time with them. Among other things, he will be remembered by his family as being the “best papaw.” He will also be remembered for his generosity, the kick he got out of teasing and cracking jokes, the nickname he had for everyone he met, and for living life his way. In his pastime, you could find him watching westerns and anything with Linda Carter in it.
He was preceded in death by his wife in April 2019, Delores; son Steve Meece; parents Luther Whitt and Hazel Benton; two brothers Douglass and Billy Whitt; one sister Hilda Rhodehamel; and his grandparents that raised him Enoch and Gertrude Henry. He is survived by his son Michael (Joslyn) Whitt; two daughters Cindy (Doug) Settlemire and Patty Taulbee; special grandson Liam Whitt and many other grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two brothers Charles (Connie) Whitt and Gene (Charolette) Benton; three sisters Judy Abney, Matilda Porter, and Betty Robertson; and special friend Barb Brown.
Funeral services 11 AM Mon., Sept. 23 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Gene Benton will be officiating the services.
