Roberta "Pat" Evans' Obituary
EVANS, Roberta “Pat,” age 81, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024.
A graduate of Kettering College of Medical Arts in 1974, Pat worked as an RN for 35 years. Prior to retirement in 2006, she served at Open Options Inc. in Lebanon, where she assisted individuals with disabilities.
Loving, caring, and witty, Pat was very social and didn’t know a stranger. She cherished her time with family and took pride in hosting special occasions or even a casual meal. She decorated extensively for her family Christmas gathering each year, including an incredible 12-foot tree. During the warmer months, her home was brightened by beautiful flowers that she carefully hand-picked. Pat had a great appreciation for Pat Buckley Moss prints. She loved to cook, especially when cooking for family and friends. Among the many delicious food items she prepared, she will be remembered for her fried corn, goulash, cheesy potatoes, vegetable soup, and half-runner green beans, which were some of her family’s favorites. When she wasn’t hosting, Pat loved going out to eat at some of her favorite restaurants like LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Marion’s, and especially Dominic’s.
A longtime and dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church in Franklin, Pat's faith was an integral part of her life. Her involvement with the church led her on several mission trips to Israel. These trips were both for service and personal enjoyment, often accompanied by her sister, Elizabeth, but also including her husband and other friends. Gatlinburg was another special destination, where she and her family created many fond memories exploring shops and visiting favorite spots such as the Dixie Stampede and the Apple Barn. In recent years, Pat could be found sitting down with her coffee and relaxing with a Netflix series, listening to the Gaithers, or staying up-to-date watching Fox News. However, of all the things that she enjoyed in her life, nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Evans; and her parents, Mark and Madonna Crutchfield. She is survived by her son, Mark (Connie) Evans; one daughter, Leslie Ealy; five grandchildren, Jamie (Kyle) Norman, Marrissa (Josh) Hardyman, Chloe Ealy (John Waterman); Evan Ealy, and Aaron Ealy; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lane, and Cambri; two brothers, Joe (Judy) Crutchfield and Mike (Marcia) Crutchfield; and two sisters, Elizabeth (Jerry) Frederick, and Jan (Tim) Shoup.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, September 3, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Pastor Matt Hinkle will be officiating the services. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. If desired, contributions may be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Jewish Voice, or the Faith Baptist Church in Franklin. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
