Robert L. Planck's Obituary
PLANCK, Robert L. age 86 of Waynesville passed away Fri. July 11, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Robert was born Dec. 30, 1921 to Ross and Jennie Planck of Waynesville. He served in the Army Air Corp. from July 1942 to Oct. 1945. He was a prisoner of war from April 13, 1944 to April 29, 1945. He served in the European Theatre as a P-51 fighter pilot. He later retired from the Waynesville Post Office in 1982 after 24 years of service. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Xenia where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was preceded in death by five sisters Daisy, Mabel, Mary, Merle, and Ada and three brothers Lewis, Wayne, and William. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Vivian (Pummill) Planck, one brother Roy Planck, of Eaton, one brother-in-law Richard Rottman of CA, and several nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Mon. July 14 at the First Church of Christ 441 Ledbetter Rd. in Xenia. Funeral services 8 PM Mon. at the church. Joby Anders officiating the services. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Wayne Twp. Rescue Squad.
