Roger D. Bailey's Obituary
BAILEY, Roger D, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
Roger graduated from Springboro High School, class of '62. He retired from Delco Products in Kettering as a tool crib instructor after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Ridgeville Christian Church. He was the type of man who would give his shirt off his back to help someone else. He would always be there with a helping hand.
Roger loved being outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or golfing. He immensely enjoyed hunting deer and fowl and fishing at Caesar's Creek Lake. He would even go ice fishing if he were given the opportunity. He enjoyed fishing so much that he even started making his fishing lures. His passion was being at all the golf course, especially at Holly Hills Golf Club in Waynesville and Majestic Springs in Wilmington. He was the two-time club champion at Holly Hills. If he wasn't golfing, he would pick up golf balls from the greens at different courses, help fix golf clubs for friends, or even build birdhouses for the various golf courses. Creating culinary masterpieces in the kitchen was his other specialty. He loved cooking, especially different types of soups. Among many things, he will be remembered for the love he had for his children and how proud he was of them.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Patricia "Candy" Bailey, in 2018; his parents, Allie and Mary Bailey; and one brother Ron Bailey. He is survived by one son, Jeff (Terri) Bailey; daughter, Heather (JT) Greer; four grandchildren, Ashlee Butt, Travis Greer, Evan Greer, and Jared Greer; one great-grandson, Zander Greer; four brothers, Bruce, Barry, Phillip, and Justin (Teresa) Bailey; and two sisters, Marsha (Gary) Glancy and Lisa (Dan) Miller.
