Ronald G. Crockett's Obituary
CROCKETT, Ronald G., age 67, of Waynesville, passed away Sat. May 11, 2019.
Ron graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ‘70. He worked nearly 50 years as an excavator, never fully retiring. In his earlier years, he worked for Don Thompson Excavating and Oberer Development. For the past several years, he owned and operated Groundworks Unlimited in Spring Valley.
Happy-go-lucky, fun loving, and a workaholic, Ron liked keeping busy and was willing to do anything for others. He was proud of the way he kept his yard, and he greatly enjoyed being outdoors, mushroom hunting, gardening and watching NASCAR. He also loved being on the water while boating at Lake Cumberland and Caesar Creek Lake. He especially looked forward to his many trips to Key West with his wife.
He was preceded by daughter Kimmerly Lovett-Benson. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kitty; daughter Ronda Crockett-Hancock; son Ryan (Dee) Lovett; five grandchildren Halen, Brailey, London, Kimmerly, and Jolene; his parents Ralph and Annetta Crockett; and his sister Diane Griffin.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wed. May 15 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery. Tom Huffman will be officiating. The family will receive friends 10 AM - 1 PM Wed. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greene County Animal Care & Control, 641 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Xenia, OH.45385.
