Ronald R. Rath's Obituary
RATH, Ronald age 85, of Waynesville, passed away Thurs. July 6, 2017.
Ron joined the service and was a Navy Seabee and served his country proudly. He returned to Dayton and started his civilian career in tool and die. He saw an opportunity to purchase the Peerless Mill Inn with his mother, and immediately enrolled in the Culinary Institute in Connecticut.
They quickly turned the Peerless Mill Inn into a fine dining destination. Once the restaurant was operating, he quickly realized the many opportunities that were available to him. His chef training led him to starting a catering business where he could apply not only his culinary skills but his ice sculpting talents.
Always a dog lover, Ron pursued his true love for man’s best friend by owning and operating Kennel Des Les Anges in Waynesville- still in business today.
He was preceded in death by his former wife JoAnn in 1959 and by Laurette in 2016. He will be missed by his daughters Geralyn (Dan) and Robin (Jim), three grandchildren Jamie, Walter and Hagen, and special friend Tina.
Ron had many talents beyond his occupations. He was a talented carpenter, an artist, an excellent fisherman who never missed an opportunity to put a line in the water and a cigar in his mouth!
He was always a jokester and left us with a mystery, his catch phrase usually while out to dinner..."Do you serve Archerobies?"
Services will be scheduled at a later date. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
