Ruby F. Neace's Obituary
NEACE, Ruby F., age 84, of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton.
Ruby was a member of the Corwin Pentecostal Church and frequently visited the Well of Grace Church in Lebanon. She grew up going to church, raised her family attending church, and loved Jesus with all her heart.
Loving, caring, funny, and feisty, Ruby was family oriented and lived her life for her family. Each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were so special to her. She greatly enjoyed crocheting, sewing, writing in her songbooks, singing gospel music, shopping, and cooking. Always the hostess, she loved to feed others when given the opportunity. Her peanut butter fudge and homemade potato salad were her most notable delectables. Backyard cookouts and family get-togethers were a common tradition with Ruby and Loranzo over the years, usually with sliced watermelon and fresh BLT sandwiches. She always had a dachshund dog as a companion, and she couldn’t help but to name each new one by the same name, Corky. She collected red birds and pictures of her family. In addition, she always loved receiving greeting cards from people and often reread them over and over. Among many things, Ruby may be remembered most for her love of the color red, and known by the nickname “Ruby Red Shoes.” She will also be remembered for the way she loved sitting outside in the warm sunshine, singing softly to the riders on the bike trail, and listening to the birds sing-especially her favorite red cardinals. As a result of always worrying so much about her beloved family members, she had a protective little saying that she often said to her loved ones, “be careful whatever y’all do!”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loranzo, in July of 2019; one son Quentin Eugene Neace; her parents Cledus and Gracie Lamb; seven brothers Bobby, Junior, Donald, Orville, Fred, Eddie, and Prentice Lamb; and one sister Stella Lamb. She is survived by four sons Mark Anthony, David (Paula), Robert, and Edwin Joe Neace; four daughters Donna (Edward) Bellman, Veronica (Danny) Vipperman, Melissa Neace (James Landrum), and Michele (Daniel) Marciniak; 26 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one brother Ernest (Pamela) Lamb; and three sisters Barbara (J.B.) Spencer, Mildred (Doug) Hunter, and Brenda (Mike) Cope.
The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Tuesday, March 3 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 4 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. David Skidmore and Phillip Hoskins will be officiating. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
