Ruth M. Asbury's Obituary
ASBURY, Ruth M., age 90, of Waynesville passed away Fri. Oct. 9, 2015 at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville. Ruth retired from Elder Beerman in 1987 after 19 years of service. She was a member of Crossview Christian Church and greatly enjoyed decorating, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her former husband Roy E. Smith; one daughter Robin Lynn Smith; her parents Arthur C. and Ora Bell Thomason; two brothers Andy and Art Thomason; and four sisters Ruby Lanham, Aileen Gilbert, Vera Ball, and Evelyn Pemberton. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, William Asbury; son Richard (Mary Ann) Smith; two daughters Joyce (Doug) Filaseta and Roslyn (Ken) Patrick; seven grandchildren Julie (Andy) Woodfield, Rich (Cherry) Smith, Bob (Wendy) Smith, Jeff (Laura) Filaseta, Dea (Ken) Burkard, Ken (Stephanie) Patrick, and Coleen Jefferson; and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services 1:30 PM Tues. Oct. 13 at Crossview Christian Church, Waynesville. Pastor Randy Snyder will be officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
