Ruth Edwards Young (Napier)'s Obituary
Young, Ruth Edwards (Napier) age 94 formerly of Waynesville passed away Mon. April 16, 2007 at Quaker Heights Nursing Home, Waynesville. Ruth taught in Perry Co., KY schools for 11 years and retired from Waynesville Elementary School after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church, Progressive Women’s Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Warren Co. Retired Teachers Assoc. She was a former member of the Waynesville Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizens (Young at Heart), and Wayne Twp. Aid. She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Edwards in 1973 and later by husband Rev. L.L. Young in 2002, one son Robert “Bobby” Edwards Jr., one daughter Dana Terrell, two grandchildren Shelly Charlton and Billie Lynn Drake, one great granddaughter Angela Wilkerson, and two brothers Fred and Don Napier. She is survived by one son Doug and his wife Lynn Edwards of IN; three daughters Lois Ruth Elliott of Waynesville, Shirley and her husband Jerald Crosson of Lebanon, and Ann Fulford of Lebanon; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother Stephen and his wife Jeanette Napier of KY; and one sister Edna M. Pennington of IN. Funeral Services 11 A.M. Thurs. April 19 at the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Rev. Joe Hansen, Rev. Ken Colvin, Rev. Jing Chow, and Rev. Tammy Jo Reiser officiating. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Wed. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family.
