Sandra J. Barton's Obituary
BARTON, Sandra J., age 72, of Centerville and formerly of Harveysburg, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Kettering Medical Center.
Sandra graduated from Clinton-Massie High School. She was a housekeeper for Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville for over 20 years before retiring from housekeeping at St. Leonard Living Community in Centerville.
Loving, caring, and family-oriented, Sandra cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was known for her skills in the kitchen. Homemade vegetable soup, green beans, and dried beef gravy were just a few of her specialties. She enjoyed making greeting cards, crocheting, and other crafts. Decorating was also one of her passions. Sandra once had as many as 35 decorated Christmas trees in her home in preparation for the holidays with her family. Antiques, cows, and sunflowers were notable additions to her home decor. Among many things, Sandra will be missed for her laugh, her smile, her feisty attitude, and her loyalty to her family. She always had the backs of her children and grandchildren and supported them in many ways. She enjoyed attending the grandchildren's events and loved rewarding them for good grades. Sandra also shared a special bond with her four grand-dogs, Bella, Remi, Hank, and Chipper.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Clark; her mother, Mary Jo (Robert) Haines; and one brother, Tony Clark. She is survived by her children, Scott (Stephanie) Barton and Carla (Rob) Kester; four grandchildren, better known to Sandra as "the loves of her life," Brianna, Tyler, Alyssa, and Zachary; one brother, Rodney Clark; nieces, Mindy and Shanda Clark; and very dear friends, Tiffany and Brad, and their two girls, Haylie and "Sassy Pants."
The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 pm on Thursday, August 1, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 12 pm at the funeral home. Steve Williamson will officiate the service. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memory Garden in Centerville. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
