Sharon L. Gross' Obituary
GROSS, Sharon L., age 75, of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Embassy of Lebanon.
Sharon retired in 1997 after working 31 years as a telephone operator for Sprint. In addition, she was a longstanding and faithful member of Dodds Pentecostal Church in Waynesville.
Caring, outgoing, and friendly to everyone, Sharon loved singing and listening to Christian singing and was a witness to God’s love and care to all who knew and met her. She especially loved her numerous nieces and nephews, and as their “second mom,” she greatly enjoyed taking them to Kings Island, out to the movies, and spending quality time with them. Her other hobbies included cooking, gardening, canning vegetables, crocheting, and crafts. Among many things, friends and family will always remember her for her delicious vinegar coleslaw, which she always made for the meals following church funerals at Dodds. Her other favorite cooking treats included cornbread and green beans, but they had to be half-runner beans. In addition, Sharon’s fond tradition was to get together with her sisters after church for lunch every Sunday for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Zelda Gross; one brother, Nelson Gross; and two sisters, Wanda Lee Gross and Roberta McIntosh. She is survived by her three sisters, Phyllis Browning, Faye Hollan, Flora (Sam) Noble, and many loving nieces and nephews she adored.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, May 3, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
