Shelby J. Dick's Obituary
DICK, Shelby J., age 84, of Kentucky and formerly Waynesville and West Virginia, passed away Wednesday. May 28, 2025.
Shelby had deep faith in God and was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Clarksville. In addition, she was previously attending the South Lebanon Church of God. She loved singing in church and giving praise to her Savior.
Caring, giving, and helpful, Shelby was witty, ornery, and fun-loving. She had a funny sense of humor and often made me laugh in a witty and subtle way when they didn’t realize she was joking. She was described as an “old-time saint” who lived to care for and serve others. She greatly enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching, and especially plastic mesh cross-stitch projects. She loved giving her art projects away, and her legacy will live on by the vast number of people who have some of her artwork. She also enjoyed working on word search puzzles, vegetable gardening, and canning vegetables for the colder months. She collected angels and items featuring red birds. Among many things, she will be remembered for her deep love for her family, West Virginia, and her faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Southard, and more recently by her husband, Richard Dick; her parents, Roy and Virgie Page; three brothers, Harry, Guy, and Kenneth Page; and three sisters, Betty Page, Lucille Burress, and Nancy Engle. She is survived by one daughter, Sherry (Donald) Padgett, and their children, Kayla and Cassidy; son, Tim Colyer, and his children, Jerrica and Michelle; one brother, Bobbie Page; and one sister, Carolyn Digman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, June 3, at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Tommy Chattin will be officiating the service. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
