Sherri Kerr Williams' Obituary
WILLIAMS, Sherri Kerr, age 62, of Springboro and formerly of Waynesville, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.
Sherri attended Wayne Local Schools. She had a compassionate spirit and was a caregiver for 20 years at the Warren County MRDD, PSU, and Brookside in Mason. Additionally, she resided in Florida for 15 years, where she further developed her caregiving skills. Ever since she was a little girl, she has attended the Temple of Praise Church in Miamisburg. She had a deep faith and loved attending church. As a testament to her faith, she would distribute baby Jesus figurines and spread the gospel.
She had a horrible poker face, and you could always tell exactly what she was thinking. Sherri loved speed, and this passion branched over to her love of watching and attending NASCAR races. In addition, she was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and would watch them each time they played. She also enjoyed watching The Golden Girls and listening to country music, as well as Elvis. She was very talented at singing. Fishing was one of Sherri’s favorite hobbies, especially when she was living in Florida. While in Florida, she enjoyed fishing with her Aunt Marlene Bailey and having fresh crabs and fish. She was a great cook and could grill perfect steaks on the grill. One of her favorite family traditions was renting seven cabins at Cumberland Lake and spending time together as a family by the lake. She loved her daughter, Emma, with all her heart. She was very proud to have been able to see her graduate and turn 18, and have one more Mother’s Day with her. Family was very important to her, and she had many connections with different family members. Her brother called her “Cybill,” and her sister was known as her twin. Over the years, she had amassed a collection of NASCAR memorabilia, Native American artifacts, and antiques. Among many things, she will be remembered for having a Coke all the time, Slim Jims in honor of her brother, her contagious laugh, and, most importantly, the love and pride she had for her family.
Sherri was preceded in death by her father who raised her and cared for her, Jim Kerr; her granny, Viola Betty Lamb; her brother, James Jim “Bobby” Kerr; her nephew, Robbie Miller; two aunts, Marlene Bailey and Alene McFarland; her biological father, Robert Patton; grandmother, Imogene Patton; and grandparents, Mark (Viola) Powell. She is survived by her son, Damon (Jessica) Rose; her daughter, Emma Kerr; her mother, Dessie “Sue” Kerr; sisters, Lisa (Doug Scurry) Lee and Billie Kerr-Meeks; nieces and nephews, Bridget Miller, Andrea (Danielle) Kerr, Sierra Ballard, Cassidy Clark, Chance Miller, Madison Miller, Matthew Scurry, Dan (Katy) Scurry, Brad Scurry; great-niece, Hannah Scurry; step-mother, Dorothy Patton; sisters, Missy (Matt) Bellew and April (Steve) Lawrence; two brothers, Bradley and Robby Patton; many extended cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members; and her dear friend, Kelly (Rick) Garman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Temple of Praise in Miamisburg. Pastor Sharon “Shari” Halton will be officiating. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens in Centerville. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
