If you happen to see a luminous light, floating down the middle of Ashmun Street in Sault Ste Marie, MI, and a warm glow rises within you, you can bet it's the spirit of one of the most beautiful, loving, heartfelt members of our Read Obituary

Sonja was such a delight everytime I saw her. I work at Chippewa Medical Associates which is located in Avery Square. I would often see Sonja in the Atrium. Sonja ALWAYS made the time to talk to you and always had something nice to say. A life lesson we should all learn from. I will miss see her smiling face as she would hang over the rail, from her apartment to wish me a good night, as I was leaving work for the day.

It is a sad rite of passage to hear of the death of Sonja, my first childhood playmate on Sugar Island. Who could ask for better memories than running free in the woods of the island or rowing our boats in the bay. Overnights in the bunkhouse hearing rain drops on the roof and bird calls. I'll never forget her early friendship.
Blessings to your family, Mike, as you cherish your memories.. Carol Arbic Flinn
Sonja, May your memory be eternal! May God shelter you in a place of brightness, a place of verdure, a place of repose where all sickness, sorrow, and suffering have fled away, and where the sight of Christ's countenance rejoices all His saints from all ages!
You were truly a wonderful person. Our family will definitely miss you.
I was so very sorry to hear of Sonja's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I met Sonja while working in the Cisler Center Office at Lake Superior State University. I worked with the Lake State Elders group to book their meetings and programs in our facility and was lucky enough to meet her during that time. She was one of my favorite people and I always tried to take time to chat with her whenever the Elders group was in our building. She was a kind and gentle soul and the world is a lonelier place without her presence.
What a priceless gift to have had Sonia in the lives of all of us who so loved her vivacious spirit, her creativity, her joy of life ! She was the best friend of her Greenville classmates who shared those carefree years. I have never forgotten her and the memories we shared at the beginning of our life's long journey ! May her friends and family find comfort in knowing of how many lives she touched including mine.
