Teresa Jane Patterson's Obituary
PATTERSON, Teresa Jane, age 65, of Waynesville, died peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Respiratory and Nursing Center of Dayton after a long struggle with illness.
Teresa graduated from Waynesville High School and Warren County Career Center, class of ’78. She was a very good student and a proud member of the WHS Drill Team. She went on to excel in several areas vocationally and always approached each position with commitment and devotion to doing her very best.
For many years, Teresa worked as a server and baker. She was an excellent cook. Her favorite foods stemmed from her simple country upbringing. She was a revered medical coder and made many lifelong friends of both bosses and coworkers. They openly valued her knowledge, skills, and trustworthy character at Grandview Hospital, Dr. K. Reid’s Office, and UnitedHealthcare. She was very proud of her work and officially retired in 1999, after more than 20 years as a medical coder.
She enjoyed helping others and spoiling her nephews and niece when they were little. She was always a quiet, peaceable person with an unexpectedly funny sense of humor. She could generally manage a giggle even through her most unwell times. Several times a year, she looked forward to traveling to West Virginia to the family farm. The family cherished the mountains and considered the family farm their second home. Over the years, she collected Blenko glass from West Virginia, which she displayed around her home.
Among many things, Teresa will be remembered for her strong faith in God. She was a member of the Waynesville First Baptist Church. Her prayers were for her loved ones and for all to accept Christ as their Savior, so that they might join her one day in heaven.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Norma Patterson; her best friend, Anita Horvath; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her brother, Greg (Diana) Patterson; four nephews, Josh (Emily) Patterson, Tanner (Skyler) Patterson, Justin Dains; and Jordan (Kelsey) Deters; one niece, Samantha Dains (Dylan Hoffer); Aunt and Uncle, Wanda and Tom Chattin; two special cousins and caregivers, Mary (Ev) McAfee and Donna (Mike) Morley; and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
All are welcome to the celebration of life graveside service, which will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Uncle Tom Chattin and Dale McCloud will be officiating. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
