KIER, Thomas H. age 69, of Waynesville, passed away Thurs. Jan. 11, 2018 at his residence. Tom graduated from Waynesville High School in 1966, received a BS degree in Education from Ohio Univ. in 1970, and a Master’s degree in Ed Read Obituary
Tom was one of the nicest people that Carlisle schools ever employed. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. The students and staff members through those years respected Tom very much. His work ethic was outstanding and his true friendship was also wonderful.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's passing. I worked with him at CHS for several years and developed a lifelong friendship. A wonderful man who was so dedicated to his profession. He was such a positive influence on so many lives, including mine. All of the comments on the CHS web page just about say it all. A humble, caring man who I will sorely miss. Rest In Peace my friend.

To say that I was stunned and saddened to hear of Tome's passing last week is a severe understatement. He was a long-time friend, all the way from kindergarten through graduation from Waynesville High School. In fact, his mother and mine were often home-room mothers for various school events, and Tom and I became close friends through those years. We kept in touch regularly. During my visits to Ohio, he sometimes arranged to attend a Cincinnati Reds baseball game--both at Riverfront Stadium and Great American Ball Park, and he always enjoyed the twice-a-month breakfasts of retired teachers and friends at the Village Restaurant. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the visitation or Celebration of Life, but my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and especially to Brandon. My deepest condolences to all.

Mr. Kier was my favorite teacher in school. I had him for two classes in which he challenged me and made me a better student. He was a quiet and reserved teacher, but would give those students putting forth the effort a silent grin and a nod.
I have thought fondly of him several times throughout the years.
