I met Tom when I was 18 years old (I am now, 64). He was gracious and kind, gentle and good, and accepted me, wholeheartedly, into the fold, without any preconceived notions or reservation. First thing I learned about Tom: he loved his wife, Bev, my husband's sister, more than I can imagine. I heard stories from my husband about the 2 of them before I met them; my husband's love for his sister was completed when he met this, 'great guy, Tom.' Bev and Tom married and had 3 great children. We met Kathleen when Loren and I were engaged and I got to hold Eric on our way home from our honeymoon. Bev was pregnant with Melissa soon after, and, Melissa, was a delight (still is,to this day!). I am so thankful to have known Tom, as he defined his family. Like so many other families, we have had the 'family-dynamics,' that goes without saying in all families; but, the love of God prevails. You, Tom, were the impetus - the magnet that drew our family back to each other; more than you probably ever knew. I remember our joint love (for the taste), but hate of, (because of the results), of onions! :) I remember, you and Bev coming to Indy and sitting on the lawn of Butler University during a concert - we all waved our hands and sang our hearts out. I remember you on my back porch, not that long ago, impeded by your mobility and yet able to raise the seat of my bike and telling me, "Now, you can ride, Sherry!" I can't wait to see you again, which I know I will, in Eternity! We will both be healthy, strong and, yes - we will remember each other! I will know your face and hug you with all of my heart. Love you, brother - thank you! Until we meet again...
