Thomas L. Stamper's Obituary
STAMPER, Thomas L., age 74, of Sun City West, Arizona and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Arizona.
Tom worked as a loan manager in the finance industry for approximately 20 years. He was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge and the Antioch Shrine Club. In addition, he was bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel by the Governor in Kentucky some years ago.
Friendly, helpful, philanthropic with a good sense of humor, Tom had a personality whereby service to others was natural. His hobbies included vegetable gardening and fishing. His favorite vegetable to grow was peppers, especially jalapeño, which he pickled and canned. His favorite places to go fishing included Indian Lake and Caesar Creek Lake. Among many things, he will be remembered for how much he enjoyed the Christmas season. Being a bit of a perfectionist, he always had to get the perfect live Christmas tree for his home, which resulted in 12 hour long searches to multiple places that sold them each year.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Dorothy Stamper and one sister Connie Stamper-Baldwin. He is survived by his wife, Sue; son Thomas (Melissa) Stamper II; three grandchildren Drew (Hannah), Brittany (Kevin), and Blake (Sachi); step sons Donnie McFadden and Eric McFadden (Vic DeFrancis); one brother Steve (Cindy) Stamper; one sister Shelva Jean (Ernie) Miller; nieces Marcie Todd, Brenda Miller; nephews Rob Smith, Josh Smith, Brian Miller; and several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11 AM Monday, August 23 at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
