Timothy Joseph Ryan's Obituary
RYAN, Timothy “Tim” Joseph, age 69, of Waynesville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital-South.
Tim graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ’74. He was very kind, friendly, and helpful, and would do anything for anyone. He was a co-owner and operator of the Waynesville Lumber Company for 50 years, retiring in July 2020.
He was a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan and had season tickets with his wife for several years. He loved old cars and had several he would tinker with in his garage. In addition, he also collected Hubley toy trucks. He was devoted to his family and, upon retirement, became an even better grandpa to his grandsons. He was at every event they were involved in, especially their sporting events. Tim’s grandsons were his pride and joy. Over the years, he had a collection of baseball cards. He cherished the Christmas season when the family would all be together to celebrate. It was a tradition to go to the flea market, and he was looking forward to taking his grandsons to the Caesar Creek Flea Market before it closed. He adored his cat, Ash, and they kept each other company. He loved action movies starring Sylvester Stallone and would watch “Rambo” whenever it came on. Among many things, he will be remembered for the love and pride he had for his “sweetie”, Cathy, his sons, and his grandsons. He will also be remembered for his favorite quote of affection to his grandsons, “Grandpa loves you more!”
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James “Jim” and Christina “Tina” Ryan. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cathy; his two sons, Nathan (Jessica) Ryan and James (Tabitha) Ryan; his four beloved grandsons, Carson, Hayden, Colin, and Reid; two brothers, Joe (Celeste) Ryan and Steve (Meishawn) Ryan; one sister, Janice (Randy) Belcher; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Monday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
