Velma was a dear friend. VELMA & I had fun working at Elder Beerman selling coupon books for our Beta Sigma Phi service sorority Xi Lambda Pi chapter to make money for our sorority many charities. Our members sold booklets in Middletown & Dayton. Velma would ride with me to Dayton for 4,weekends twice per year for many years. She would sell at one door & I would rotate through store. Velma was Recording Secretary & Correspondence Secretary of our Chapter for several years and was very generous in her donations to our charities. I find myself thinking - I will call or visit Vlema. Last time I saw Velma, I said I love you & she responded I love you too. I will truely miss Velma. Doris Heidenreich
Velma was one of the first neighbors to welcome us to Morningside Dr. almost 7 years ago. She and her husband made us feel welcome. She was such a loving friend of our neighbor Gene Yoder for years after Gene’s husband passed away. We will remember her as a very kind, loving person. May she rest in peace. 💕💕 Chuck & Aggie Gay.
