Vicki B. Christian's Obituary
CHRISTIAN, Vicki B., age 69, of the Dayton area and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025.
Vicki graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ’74. Always hardworking, she worked many years as a waitress at the Golden Lamb restaurant in Lebanon. During the second half of her working career, she worked at ADVICS in Lebanon for an additional 20 years of service.
Happy, joyful, friendly, and caring, Vicki had an energetic personality who was always loving and devoted to her family. She loved watching movies, both out at the cinema and at home. Sci-Fi productions were always her preference, especially the movie Aquaman, which resulted in her getting teased due to the suggestion that it was only because of the good looks of the leading male actor. Vicki’s other hobby included caring for her plants that hung beautifully from her porch. Her husband kept a vegetable garden and Vicki made it her purpose to preserve and can the vegetable for the winter months. Over the years, she loved the several vacations that she got to enjoy, especially during the years when she could enjoy the trips with her grandchildren along.
Vicki enjoyed several traditions during her life that became some of her favorite memories. She always looked for to the Thanksgiving holiday, mostly because it was a time when her family gathered together. Among other items, she especially became known for her delicious deviled eggs. During the summer, Vicki and her family enjoyed trips to Norris Lake in Tennessee, where they rented a cabin and a pontoon boat. In addition to the the relaxation of floating in the water behind the boat, she also enjoyed evening cookouts and dancing to the music that they always had playing. Throughout her life experiences and traditions, it is the pride and love she had in her son and grandkids that she will be remembered most.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, in 2014, and her parents, Doyle and Lois Lainhart. She is survived by her son, John Christian; five grandchildren, Matthew (Azaria) Christian, Sierra Horner, Lily Christian, Ruby Christian, and Alex Christian; three great-grandchildren, Emery, and twins-Wyatt and Beckett; one brother, Robin Lainhart; and two sisters, Terri (Bret) McCarty and Michelle (Steve) Fike.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, July 19, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 1 PM on Saturday at the funeral home, with Celebrant Katie Mackoway officiating the service.
