Vina Purkey's Obituary
PURKEY, Vina (Lamb) age 85 of Corwin passed away Tues. Jan. 30, 2007 at her residence. Born Feb. 2, 1921 to J.P. and Hulda (Hobbs) Lamb in KY. Several years ago Vina, along with her husband Howard, owned and operated the Corwin Grocery. Later, she served as secretary/bookkeeper for Purkey Hardware. She greatly enjoyed attending church and church related activities. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard in 1994; six brothers Cledus, Lewis, Gilbert, Sil, Acy, and Elmer Lamb; and four sisters Emma Purkey, Mary Jones, China Morgan, and Bessie Isaacs. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Diann Purkey of Corwin; two grandchildren Will and his wife Sonia Purkey and Perry and his wife Kristy Purkey both of Oregonia; five great grandchildren Charissa, Justin, Austen, Jessica, and Madison; and one brother John Lamb of Miamisburg. Funeral Services 1 P.M. Sat. Feb. 3 at the Corwin Pentecostal Church. Rev. Walter Lamb and Rev. Acy W. Lamb officiating. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Fri. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family.
