Wilda F. Frantz's Obituary
FRANTZ, Wilda F., age 91, of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Wilda graduated from Meadow Bridge High School in West Virginia, class of ’52. She was one of the founding members of the Waynesville First Baptist Church. She loyally attended for over 67 years. She was very active in several ministries with the church. She could always be found helping in the kitchen, working the nursery, assisting with the AWANAS program, Bible school classes, and Vacation Bible School. In addition, she worked for 13 years at Ellis’ Supervalu in Waynesville.
Ornery, happy-go-lucky personality, Wilda could light up the room with her smile. She loved being a jokester and deeply loved and cared about those around her. Family was her everything, and she looked forward to any time they could get together. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her coleslaw and apple sauce cake. She loved tater tots, potato chips, and ice cream. Anytime a shopping opportunity came available, she was ready to go. She also looked forward to eating out with family and friends, especially at Cracker Barrel. Over the years, she gained a collection of spoons and pigs. In addition, she was known for working in her yard and having beautiful flowers. Among many things, she will be remembered for the love and pride she had in her family and for being the glue to keep them all together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason, in 2012; parents, Stanley and Ocie Farley; two brothers, Julian (Doris) Farley and Charles Farley; one sister, Barbara Blevins; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Brenda Farley; and one brother-in-law, Harold Horn. She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Kathy) Frantz and Garry Frantz; one daughter, Linda Frantz; ten grandchildren, Michael (Erica) Frantz, Stephanie Nader, Brandon Frantz, Jerry (Shelia) Johnson, Jeff (Farah) Johnson, Jennifer (Dahlian) Anderson, Erica (Brandon) Lowery, Joshua Frantz, Jeremiah (Chrystin) Frantz, and Pam (Jason) Blair; 18 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Farley, Jiles (Sharon) Farley, and Dale Farley; and one sister, Ruth Horn.
Funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Waynesville Community Church. Dale McCloud and Shahne Stone will be officiating. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. The family will receive friends 6 -8 PM Monday, March 24, at Waynesville Community Church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
