William "Bill" R. Lewis' Obituary
LEWIS, William “Bill” R., age 77, of Corwin, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Bethesda North Hospital.
Bill was born July 14, 1946, in Hillsboro, to Huber R. and Hilda O. (Frazier) Lewis. He retired from Snyder Brick & Block in Centerville after nearly 20 years of faithful service. He was so dedicated and loyal to the company he worked for that during the early ‘90's,, Bill tried to walk from his home in Franklin to work in Centerville in the snow. Thankfully, someone saw him, picked him up, and drove him the rest of the way. He was a lifelong member of Corwin Pentecostal Church, where he was widely recognized for his strong faith and kind heart to offer a helping hand. A frequent attendant, he could usually be found most Sundays in his favorite spot near the front in the second row, being a faithful supporter of his church, family, and community. Caring deeply for the church, he was very proud to hold a key to the church.
Quiet, humble, and caring, Bill was a dedicated family man. When his mother was living, he would visit her every Sunday and enjoy supper and an evening together. He loved country music and was always looking for concerts to attend. It became a tradition that every year he looked forward to the Ft. Laramie Country Concert and was excited to attend it with his wife, Linda, and her family. In addition, he greatly enjoyed amusement parks with his family and regularly visited King’s Island. He found pride in being able to drive others around wherever they needed to go. Among many things, he will be remembered for his solid foundation in faith, his commitment to his workplace, and his devotion to his family and God.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Huber and Hilda Lewis. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Linda; stepson, James Spencer; stepdaughter, Michelle Spencer; one brother, Tommy (Sandy) Lewis; two sisters, Connie Lewis and Diane (Bill) Huber; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and numerous friends.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm on Thursday , October 30, 2025, at Corwin Pentecostal Church. Randy Brown will be officiating. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to the funeral expenses. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
