William "Bill" H. Johnson's Obituary
JOHNSON, William “Bill” H., age 75, of Cincinnati and formerly of the state of Texas and Westerville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville, Ohio.
Bill honorably served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University in 1982. He worked several years for Shell and Halliburton in the oil and gas industry, worked for a time at AIG, and ultimately retired from Cardinal Health in 2014 as a Computer Security Analyst.
He was highly intelligent and complex, Bill had a quick sense of humor, loved to tell jokes, and had extremely high intellect with computers, which he greatly enjoyed working with. His love of computers led to him teaching computers to senior citizens in the later years of his life for fun. He also enjoyed astronomy, ham radio, and photography. Perhaps his favorite pastime was spending time traveling and exploring new areas. Along with his wife, they traveled extensively, including numerous ocean cruises and land tours. Some of his more notable travel destinations included a river cruise to Germany and France, an incredible land and sea excursion to Alaska, a land tour in Ireland in 2006, and a land tour in England, Scotland, and Wales in 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anna Johnson, and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, JoAnn; son, Douglas Johnson; daughter, April Janovyak; stepsons, Todd Smith and Morgan (Kathy) Ellington; stepdaughters, Cybele Smith, and Marissa Smith; seven grandchildren; and two brothers.
