William "Willy" E. Miller's Obituary
MILLER, William “Willy” E., age 66, of Waynesville, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, at his residence.
Willy worked approximately 20 years for Leggett & Platt as a machine operator and several more years for Fujitec in Lebanon. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Lebanon Ford as a porter, which he enjoyed. He was a former member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville and had recently been attending the Robinson Vail Rd. Pentecostal Holiness Church in Franklin.
Loving, family-oriented, and often ornery, Willy enjoyed joking and picking on people in a fun way if he liked them. He had a genuine concern and care for others and was protective of his family members. He greatly enjoyed fishing from the bank, and with the use of his waders, at Caesar Creek Lake. He also enjoyed watching fishing shows on TV, sipping coffee on his porch, fixing mowers and other home projects, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He was active in church, supportive to the congregation, and an encourager to his family regarding church and the word of God. Over the years, he had a tradition of watching Jimmy Swaggart on TV and was even able to see him speak in person when he came to Cincinnati some years ago. He will be remembered for his love of Dr. Pepper, his pride for his kids and grandkids, and his fascination with the mechanics of watches. While he never owned expensive watches, he always marveled over the intricacies of watches, regardless of their cost or whether they were digital or mechanical. He owned several watches he picked up at garage sales and Goodwill and greatly enjoyed changing the bands and working with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pat Miller; four deceased brothers, Tommy Miller, Dicky Miller, Bob Frederick, and Jimmy Frederick; and his sister, Beverly Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Arcena; three daughters, April (Carl) Gross, Talitha (Zach) Ewen, and Andrea (John) Denlinger; five grandchildren, Olivia, Summer, Tricia, Scarlett, and Ricky; two brothers, Butch (Liz) Frederick and Raymond (Andrea) Miller; and one sister, Penny Walden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 1, at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Tim Noble, Danny Lamb, and Bobby Bailey will be officiating. The family will receive friends 5 - 8 PM Friday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to the mission work of Willie’s nephew, Bobby Bailey, by making donations directly in Bobby’s name. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
