Wilma Sue Roark's Obituary
ROARK, Wilma Sue, age 84, of Waynesville passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Hill Spring Nursing Home in Springboro, OH. She was born December 22, 1936, in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Johnson and Sarah ‘Short’ McCloud.
Sue loved Interior Design and ran Roark Interiors with her husband for many years. While she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville, Sue, Azzo and a few others led a church plant in Peebles, Ohio to start Peebles Baptist Church. Sue was a member of the Peebles Baptist Church. Christmas was her favorite holiday, whereby she decorated every room and made stockings for each child & grandchild. Everyone looked forward to her famous skotcharoos and date cake. Cooking and baking were second nature for Sue.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Azzo Roark, son Randall Clay Roark, three brothers, Donald McCloud, AV McCloud, and JD McCloud, and three sisters, Linda Bolton, Rose Spangler, and Odella Sutter. She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Wayne (Virlene) Roark and Rodney Ray (Sharon) Roark; three grandchildren Ron (Dana) Roark, Tabitha Salmons, and Amanda (Jeremy) Clark; 6 great-grandchildren Alex, JD, Allie, Lexi, Tyler, and Emmitt; one brother David (Becky) McCloud.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 13, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Waynesville. Rodney Roark and Dale McCloud will be officiating the services. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Monday, September 13 at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
