Zola "Mabel" Messer's Obituary
MESSER, Zola Mae “Mabel” age 76 of Waynesville went Home on Friday, June 8, 2007. Preceded in death, she was the beloved wife of Charles W. Messer, Sr. Adored by children: Sandra Hodson, Charles, Jr. (Lana), Pamela Norman, Mary Hays (Robert), Eric Messer (Jenny), Gary Chadwell, Linda Thibault, adopted children Annie and Howie Smith, and Karen Lenhart. She was loved by 14 grandchildren, and enjoyed by 12 great grandchildren. Mabel was a devoted sister to: Dorothy (Kelin) Hasty, Presley (Peggy) Jones, Jim (Alice) Jones, John (Kitsy) Jones and John Chadwell. She was preceded in death by June Chadwell and Millard Jones. Totally committed to God, home and family, Mabel’s wisdom, counsel and love was so very often sought out by her birth and community family. Her insights will be heartbreakingly missed. Her Home Going celebration will be 11:00 AM Tuesday June 12 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, 185 N. Main St. Waynesville. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
