Arthur "Frank" Powell's Obituary
POWELL, Arthur "Frank" age 86 of Mt. Holly passed away Thurs. June 16, 2011. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Following his retirement from NCR after 30 years of service, Frank worked 10 years at Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville. He was a member of the Waynesville American Legion post 615 and served on the Wayne Local PTO. He participated in the Waynesville Athletic Boosters, and was elected to the Wayne Local Schools Athletic Hall of Fame for his support of the athletic programs. He enjoyed hunting, breeding Brittany Spaniel dogs, and playing and coaching baseball. He was preceded in death by one daughter Cheryl Miller, his parents Leo and Flossie Powell, two brothers George and Don Powell, and his sister Dorothy Bear. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Erlise; three sons Michael (Cecelia), Scot, and Daniel Powell; daughter Patrice (Brad) Brobeck; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three brothers Paul, Ralph, and Harry (Mary) Powell. Funeral services 1 PM Mon. June 20 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Violetta Gwynn officiating. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
